Lucky Pocket was amazing. They made all of our dreams come true!! We had zero regrets about choosing to hire a live band and spend a little more than we would have on a DJ I have not looked back and I will recommend Sam Hill and Lucky Pocket to any/all friends and family planning weddings or events in the area in the future! Multiple people told us they were the best wedding band they've ever heard play. Not bad at all.
Nathan was wonderful to work with on our planning call, and the band learned one of our favorite 90s songs and played it to close out the party. It was amazing! They brought incredible energy, were on time, did a great job MCing the evening and introducing folks and speeches, and we have no complaints.
The Sam Hill portal makes the whole process easy in the lead up, so thanks for that as well. Already left a review on The Knot, but wanted to follow up here as well :) Thanks again for everything.

Lucky Pocket are true pros. They live up to every bit of the hype, and more than delivered on their guarantee to keep the dance floor packed. They had our guests dancing at the tables during dinner! They crushed the slow songs, they crushed the dance songs, and at the end of the night people were calling for an encore (which I've never heard of at a wedding reception). Just a seriously special event from endtoend.

They were easy to work with and very accommodating! They played some Chinese pop music for our Chinese bride and her friends it was awesome! And they let the father of the bride have a few moments to play his harmonica for everyone 🤗
An added bonus! They had a great little tune at the end instructing everyone to head outside for the sparkler exit! It really moved the crowd and was so much nicer than the band just ending and then everyone leaving with no music.

Thanks for touching base. Lucky Pocket was absolutely perfect. Nathan and the rest of the band really gave it their all and made our wedding truly incredible. We had such a blast with their take on a wide range of music and could not have asked for better vocals. Nathan knew how to keep my 70s loving parents and their friends happy as well as our 90s/2000s rap loving friends on the dance floor. Nathan gave us the sweetest send off with Marvin Gaye and to be honest, we didn’t have to think about the music much at all during all the wedding planning and were so glad. It is hard to believe that Anna and Hunter’s wedding is now behind us. It seems like only yesterday I contacted you about booking a band for the reception.
I can say without reservation I am very happy with our choice of LUCKY POCKET as our band. I really enjoyed working with lead singer Nathan Harris leading up to and during the wedding. My daughter, Anna, and I connected with Nathan two weeks before the wedding to discuss the information we included in our customer portal. Nathan was very engaging and professional during our call, and made sure he answered all of our questions and made sure he had a sound understanding of what Anna wanted during the reception. I could not have asked for nicer person to work with than Nathan.
On our wedding day, Nathan provided lapel microphones and sound for our outdoor ceremony allowing our guests to hear everything that was going on a rather windy day. Nathan also provided a microphone for me to use during my speech at dinner…again allowing everyone at dinner to hear. These little things, which are often missing at weddings I have been to, provided a special touch to a fantastic day.
I am not sure where to begin about LUCKY POCKET and our reception. I will say this, Anna asked Nathan during our call with him for a dance party, and LUCKY POCKET more than delivered and then some! From the moment following the father/daughter dance, the dance floor was PACKED! Heck, even those who weren’t on the dance floor were moving! There were a lot of smiling faces while LUCKY POCKET was playing…none bigger than the one on Anna’s face. We were so happy and impressed with LUCKY POCKET’s impressive set lists. We danced to Motown, beach, classic rock, country, and Top 40 music for almost 3 hours…each song accompanied by guests singing along. Nathan wandered onto the dance floor a couple of times to engage with the crowd with a huge smile on his face each time. The only time the dance floor “thinned” out was during the band’s 10 minute break…and that’s probably a good thing because without that break our guests probably would have passed out from exhaustion from all of the dancing.
I had two goals when I looked to book a band for my daughter’s wedding. First, I wanted to work with someone who knew the industry and was patient with my decision making process. Mike, I cannot thank you enough for all of the help from YOU and Sam Hill Entertainment. You answered all of my questions before I booked, and stayed in touch with me during the 1 1/2 years between the booking and actual wedding. You made the whole process so easy and stress free, and I will absolutely recommend you and Sam Hill Entertainment to anyone who asks. Secondly, I wanted my daughter to be happy with the band we chose. It goes without saying my choice of LUCKY POCKET was a home run! I can’t thank Nathan and his bandmates enough for making my daughter’s day such a special one. Nathan and the band were so nice and professional, and I can without reservation recommend LUCKY POCKET to anyone looking for an OUTSTANDING band that knows how to TEAR IT UP!

WOW! Lucky Pocket absolutely blew us away! From the moment they arrived to the final song, they kept the energy up and eased our nerves. Jen and I couldn’t have been more pleased with Lucky Pocket and Sam Hill. We received several compliments from parents/grandparents/kids/peers throughout the night on how great the band sounded and how well they played and everything during the event was excellent.
Lucky pocket showed up on time and got everything setup well in advance, Nathan checked in with us as he got there to make sure he had the correct songs to play for our dances (I had a last minute change, and he had it all noted ahead of time). He also did an excellent job of making sure the toast givers knew how to work the microphone ahead of time and how to queue him which was a nice small detail so we’re not up there blowing into a mic and tapping it to make sure it works.
Again, we appreciate all the help and communication leading up to the event, and couldn’t be happier with how it all wound up.

We choose Lucky Pocket from Sam Hill Entertainment as our wedding band. Sam Hill was great in answering questions and communicating with us in setting up the communication with the band. It was the best decision. The groom and I have different tastes in music. We were so happy to have a band that covered it all, from the rock classics to Top 40 and country. We had the guitarist play at the ceremony, he played outside in the cold and was wonderful. We had a soloist play on a piano that the venue had and did amazing. These fellas are talented! The band was very professional, at one point we were going to add a mother/son dance at the last second (literally was asked after the father/daughter dance) and the band was about to roll with it, before the groom's mother decided against it. The band even learned songs that we not part of their selection during the week of the wedding. I completely lost my voice for 4 days after because we were all singing along the whole time. The band played a wide range of songs from different genres and it flowed wonderfully. We got so many compliments on the band, we were beyond impressed and hope to see them perform again.

Lucky Pocket was unbelievable! We couldn't be happier with how everything went and would book them 1,000 times over. Nathan was very friendly, responsive, and receptive during the communications leading up to the event. The band was very professional and sounded great, but at the same time were also very fun, interactive, and great at reading the crowd. Everyone at the wedding loved them, and the dance floor was full the entire reception. Further, we had them learn a somewhat random song for our first dance, and they knocked it out of the park. We were very impressed.
Additionally, our experience with Sam Hill Entertainment was also great. Communication, booking, and payment were very easy and left us worryfree for our wedding day.
We feel very fortunate to stumbled into this experience through Sam Hill being the preferred vendor at our venue. We will 100% be recommending both Lucky Pocket and Sam Hill Entertainment to any we know looking to book a live band for their event/wedding.

I CANNOT say enough good things about Lucky Pocket. Everyone LOVED them. Each of them are terrific musicians, and as a band, they are great at reading the room and engaging with the crowd. Hiring a band sightunseen is a bit nervewracking, especially when the bride and groom have told you that the band is the most important thing to them! Even with promotional videos, you never really know if what you're seeing is recent/real/authentic and really representational of what you will actually get. Well I have to say that Lucky Pocket is EVEN BETTER than what we bargained for. And to be honest, you should be charging more for them. We are CRAZY about these guys and hope our other daughter gets married soon so we can hire them again. 😎 THEY ARE THE BEST!

I am so happy we went with Lucky Pocket they were professional, talented and brought the party. With everything going on during a wedding day, the ideal wedding vendor is one you don't have to worry about and Nathan and the rest of Lucky Pocket were exactly that. They were flexible accommodating both a request to let my six year old nephew introduce me and my husband, and also let my husband perform a song with his groomsmen. They were also extremely patient with some things that came up during the wedding which I am so grateful for. I would definitely recommend them and I think everyone who attended our wedding would as well. Empty Pocket was absolutely wonderful. They showed up and set up without needing any direction or help from us and were very organized and timely. They adjusted their schedule around our plans for the reception and MC’d for us before beginning to play. They were personable, friendly, and got EVERYONE on their feet to dance. The music was a great mix of what we had asked for we just gave them a few ideas and they ran with it and came up with a great list of music. They also had a great playlist for their break and people continued to dance even when they weren’t playing! I’ve gotten so many calls and texts about how awesome they were and what a fun wedding it was even someone who has asked for their name and number for a wedding next summer! We couldn’t be happier. It was a great time and they were so friendly.

We are BEYOND impressed with Empty Pocket. It's hard to know where to begin in telling you how much we loved having them as our band for our wedding. And this is coming from a couple who honest to goodness cared MOST about 1. The vows/actual wedding and 2. Throwing an EPIC dance party for people of all ages. And they got everyone and I mean everyone out their dancing. It was a dream come true. Nathan and the whole group were unbelievably professional, kind, approachable, flexible, and straight up FUN! They were so easy to work with; had everything set up and moving in the right direction, keeping us on track throughout the evening. And the best part about it was that they clearly played off of the energy of our guests and adapted and played to what was working and what was keeping people moving and enjoying themselves. And THEY were having a blast playing which makes such a difference when you see them up there enjoying themselves as well it just keeps the energy and the mood so alive and exciting. The transitions into their breaks and back into playing were absolutely flawless.
There is also an intangible to their group they have a presence, and calm and reassuring attitude of we got this that made our interactions with them that evening so incredibly easy and stressfree. They are so good at what they do and from two music buffs they played a lot of the songs with more energy and more skill than the original recordings. They were beyond wonderful they were perfect; they were everything we were looking for to keep our celebration lively and energetic and vivacious and full of love and life and energy. Honest to goodness. Have I said that enough already?
We are already talking them up all over Charlottesville with whomever we can!

I truly can't express enough how pleased we were with Empty Pocket. That’s all we could talk about the next day!! I had so many people tell me how much they loved the band, and everyone was on their feet all night. The band was super interactive getting out on the floor with us, and also flexible when some speeches went extra long and we had to rearrange the schedule of the night a little bit on the fly. We've had a lot of friends get married in the Raleigh area recently who have spent so much money on bands and ended up with lackluster reviews. People were blown away when they found out what we paid— best deal ever on a wedding band! I'm sure you get a lot of great reviews because everyone gets drunk and ends up having a good time regardless of the actual quality of the band, but I will tell you I did not have a single drink all night, so I feel like a very objective reviewer, and they were amazing. I would recommend to absolutely everyone!!!

Empty Pocket was absolutely fantastic! Adam was easy to work with and they did a great job with the first dance and father daughter dance songs (they already knew I Don't Need No Doctor but changed the song structure at our request, and learned Butterfly Kisses). Other than those first two songs, we didn't really have any requests and left it up to the band and they totally delivered. The dance floor was packed the entire night, their musicianship was impressive (fellow musicians among our guests had great things to say), and melodies/mixes of multiple songs they did were awesome! Our guests raved about how great the band was and Kristin and I couldn't have been happier.
We hope the guys of Empty Pocket had as much fun during their first time on Bald Head as we and our guests did. We would absolutely recommend them to anyone, and hope that they are playing at any weddings or events we attend in the future!

As far as the band goes: Empty Pocket was flat out awesome. Very tight, very professional (without being stuffy) and superb musicianship. I Particularly dug the guitarist's pedal use to recreate keyboard/sampletype effects. Impressive fretwork too some of those solos were ripping! Nathan's vocals were spoton and Adam/Brian grooved in the pocket quite nicely. We loved the first dance cover (Zep's Thank You) we got quite a few compliments from guests on both the song choice and its execution.
Overall, we were very pleased we decided to get those guys up here to play. Empty pocket does a great job of recreating the vibe of the original covers, while injecting some rock grit. They nailed the more hip hopinspired tunes as well exactly what we were looking for! Got great feedback from all the guests, including our hipster/musician friends that love to hate on everything. Heard nothing but glowing praises.
We know it was a hell of a long day for them to come all the way to MD, but it did not show at all in their performance.

If I could use one word to sum up our experience with Empty Pocket it would be, AWESOME. They were incredible! We and our guests had such a blast dancing along to them and really couldn't ask for anything more. Just got back from the honeymoon yesterday and got your email. The band was great, everybody loved them! They were really lively, played a great selection of music and were a lot of fun. I appreciated their attentiveness. I have already had many people ask, Who was that band? and Where did you find them? I've been passing along the info!

Empty Pocket was fantastic! Everyone loved the band, and they are still talking about them. They were very polite and courteous. They were really easy to work with and they played all the music that we had requested. My friend Lauren is using them for her wedding in Savannah over Thanksgiving; she was really excited to see them before her wedding. I am actually excited for her wedding so that I can enjoy them more since I won't have to talk to everyone the entire time. I look forward to seeing them again.

The Empty Pocket band was GREAT! Everyone loved them and really seemed to enjoy dancing to them. They were friendly, crowd pleasing, and energetic. The singer even allowed some of the girls to join in on the mic on a song. They learned our first dance song and did an excellent job on it, as well as the fatherdaughter dance. They were fabulous! I would definitely recommend them to others.

We had a large reception, and everyone has been complimenting them since the wedding. They did an amazing job. They learned two new songs for us, and they were performed beautifully. Empty Pocket was great! Adam Moses did everything we asked him to, and their rendition of Livin' On a Prayer for our first dance was amazing. I had multiple people come up to me throughout the reception asking where we found the band. They had the dance floor full the whole time mostly with the younger crowd, but the adults got out there too.
